Periodontics

Periodontist in Forest and Brussels

Our practice specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease. We see only patients with periodontal problems or those who need specialist care before implant treatment.

We work in collaboration with referring practitioners, to ensure your oral health is managed as a whole.

What is periodontal disease?

Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the gums and the bone that supports the teeth. It can cause bleeding, swelling, progressive recession and, left untreated, tooth loss.

An early diagnosis makes it possible to stabilise the disease and preserve your natural teeth for as long as possible.

Periodontal treatments we provide

Oral hygiene session

A review of your brushing technique with a personalised demonstration by the oral hygienist — the key to successful periodontal treatment.

Deep scaling and root planing

Thorough cleaning below the gumline to remove tartar deposits.

Periodontal surgery

In advanced cases, surgery may be needed to regenerate the tissues or reduce periodontal pockets.

Periodontal plastic surgery

Gum recession — gums that pull back and leave the root exposed — causes cold sensitivity, a risk of root decay and an aesthetic concern when it affects the smile. Periodontal plastic surgery covers exposed roots with a connective tissue graft or a tunnel technique, reinforces thin gum tissue and harmonises the gum line — including for a gummy smile or before an aesthetic restoration.

Pre-prosthetic surgery

Preparing the tissues before a prosthesis or an implant, to optimise stability, function and comfort.

Successful treatment rests on regular follow-up and personalised periodontal maintenance.

Your first periodontal consultation

It includes a full clinical examination, a radiographic analysis if needed, and a personalised treatment plan.
